Janelle Monae "Many Moons" (VIDEO)
Big fan of Miss Janelle Monae - think OutKast meets Gnarls Barkley transmitted through a really gifted female voice. Check out her EP Metropolis - The Chase Suite it's really dope. The song "Sincerely, Jane" is enough reason to cop it.

Jazmine Sullivan @ STEVEN NYC (w/ Non-Album MP3)
Checked out Jazmine Sullivan last night at STEVEN in the Lower East Side of NYC - in a packed space of booty tight, sweaty people but still she rocked it like a champ.
Her debut album Fearless is out now - for now check out some things below that put me onto her a while ago, including a track not on the album - a live rendition of the jazz standard "Round Midnight" and her first TV performance as an 11-year-old on Showtime At The Apollo...

DJ AM and Travis Barker Injured in Plane Crash
Via-vicariousmusic.com & LATimes.com:
Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein survived a Learjet plane crash Friday night.
The four other passengers, still unidentified, two passengers and two crew members, were killed in the crash, according to CNN.
Both men were in critical condition with extensive burns at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia early Saturday.
The National Transportation Safety Board sent a Go Team to Columbia, S.C., to investigate the crash of the Learjet 60, which crashed on takeoff at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport at 11:53 p.m. Friday night. Sparks were reportedly seen on takeoff by flight controllers.
Beth Frits, spokeswoman at the Burn Center, told CNN that Barker and Goldstein arrived at the hospital early Saturday with "extensive burns." At last report, they are still in critical condition.
Barker and Goldstein, who perform together under the name TRVSDJ-AM, held a free outdoor concert in Columbia's college neighborhood Friday night. DJ Steve Aoki, Perry Farrell and Gavin DeGrawalso performed with them. Farrell's manager has confirmed to MTV that he was not on the plane.Perez Hilton is reporting that DeGraw was not on the plane.
Confirmed dead to MTV are the plane's pilot, Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim, Calif., and her copilot, James Bland, 52, from Carlsbad, Calif. Barker's assistant, Chris "Little Chris" Baker, also died in the crash. He was 29, and lived in Studio City, Calif. One other passenger is still unidentified.
"It's absolutely terrible and tragic," Columbia Mayor Bob Coble told AP.
Please say prayers for everyone who was on that flight.

Busta Rhymes Rumored to Sign With Universal/Motown
News that Busta would release another Aftermath project originally started in October of 2007, when the heralded emcee told Rolling Stone an album entitled Back On My BS was to be released on Dec. 4 [click to read]. Interscope released the lead single "We Made It," which peaked at no. 47 on Billboard's Pop 100 chart. The album's title was later changed to Blessed, and a second single, "Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On 'Em)," was released.
Nile Ivey, of BET.com, reports representatives from Aftermath/Interscope have confirmed that Busta Rhymes is no longer on the label. If and when Universal/Motown confirms the news it will, reunite Busta with Sylvia Rhone. Rhone, who currently serves as Motown's president, signed Busta Rhymes to his first solo deal on Elektra Records. No release date has been set for Busta's eighth LP, Blessed.

Makers Of Guitar Hero At Work On DJ Hero
The phenomenon that is Guitar Hero has been a dream come true for adolescents and adults alike who have had a hard time emulating their favorite rock stars in the real world. The makers of the extremely successful guitar game, Activision, are hoping they can do the same for DJ Hero.
According to Kotaku.com, DJ Hero is tentatively scheduled for release next summer, with developers FreeStyleGames still hard at work on the game. The controller has been described as a simplified deejay deck, with three buttons for sampling and a cross fader included on the small platform that will likely be wireless.
Though the development of DJ Hero has run surprisingly well, Activision’s main obstacle has been the abundant amount of songs that feature samples, and licensing could put its premiere on hold. The wait may give a more satisfying result though, as Activision is looking to make DJ Hero and Guitar Hero compatible for game play. HipHopDX will keep you posted on new developments for DJ Hero as the product is slowly unveiled.
